  What Is Natural Food?

Our boxes are made of 100% recycled paper and are printed with environmentally friendly vegetable inks. We encourage you to follow our example by reducing, reusing and recycling products in your home. Becoming more conscious of your habits can help reduce the impact of our lifestyle on the planet. It can also help you discover the way making peace with Mother Earth can lead to inner calm.

It's natural for us to be concerned with your health. That's why we make cereals that are good for you and good for the planet, choosing the purest fruits of the earth.

The Organic Choice
Our organic commitment means providing you with the highest quality ingredients while also protecting the earth's natural resources. We start with small farms, teaching techniques of preserving soil richness through the environment's natural cycles. This eliminates a need for chemical fertilizers and pesticides. Participating farmers sign contracts agreeing to support conservation and restoration in
their area. These programs develop positive, environmentally conscious communities in the most delicate ecological systems in the world, such as the rainforest of Indonesia. What's good for the earth is also good for your family. Eating organic is the best way to ensure that no GMOs, preservatives, artificial flavors or colorings are in your food. It's the natural choice for good health and good taste.

The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) recently passed its National Organic Standards, with new requirements for labeling foods as organic. It details the methods, practices, and substances that can be used in producing and handling organic crops and livestock, as well as processed products. These new standards will replace the current state and private labels. We are proud that our cereals that are at least 95% organic will now bear the USDA Organic Seal.

GMOs mean Genetically Modified Organisms. Another commonly used term is "bio engineered foods." Both terms refer to food that has been genetically or biologically altered by science. Some of the processes used might include plant hybridization, crossbreeding, and fermentation. Currently genetic engineering focuses on recombinant DNA techniques, or taking genetic material from one species and inserting it into another. While these alterations stem from the desire to organize global food production for a growing population, the technology has resulted in food sources harmful to consumers and the environment. Peace Cereal has taken a strong stand against these practices, and wherever possible we have used suppliers that adhere strictly to non-GMO production methods. When non-GMO ingredients are unavailable, we work with producers and product development companies to create new systems and new supplies of natural ingredients.

Natural foods are foods without pesticides or artificial additives, as well as minimally processed and preservatives-free. Peace Cereal is deeply conscious of the circumstances in which our ingredients are developed, so much so that we lead the way in creating healthy environments for our manufacturers and producers. Each of our ingredients is periodically reviewed for taste and quality, including laboratory testing for insecticides, pesticides, and heavy metals to insure authenticity and purity. By choosing our foods, you can also avoid the extra fat, sodium, sugar, and additives generally used in processing.

Most GMO crops require the use of toxic weed killers.

Organic farmers practice pesticide-free farming so rivers and water supplies do not need to be treated to remove toxic chemicals from agricultural run-off.

Organic ranchers are pledged to respect the natural forms of animal behavior; and smaller herds and cleaner pastures minimize the use of veterinary medicines and toxic antibiotics.
